R&J Wide Churchills

Friday, 16 July 2010

The brand new Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill arrives in Mount Street today and if you love it as much as I did you should beat a path to the store to try it. The new cigar is a real mouthful at a chunky 55 ring gauge. At 5¼ inches it’s a great hour and a half’s smoke.

The cut was very moist and spongy and the draw was fantastic. It is a very smooth and cultured smoke, creating a long strong ash. It is tasty without being overpowering and the last third was pure honey.

In boxes of ten and 25 this deserves to become a real classic and I am struggling to remember when I enjoyed a cigar more.

Trinidad Short Robusto T LTD

Trinidad Short Robusto T

This is a cigar I have been looking forward to smoking ever since it was announced! It is a perfect short smoke. With a very dark oily wrapper with very fine veins. It creates beautiful ash with a contrasting dark ring whilst smoking!

It is spicy from the start and a lovely draw, my only tip would be to remove the double band off before smoking as it’s such a short cigar. It’s great to smoke now but I would say that in boxes of 12, it is an ideal cigar to lay down for a few years to age. Then it’ll become a real classic smoke.

The Montecristo Gran Edmundo

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

The Montecristo Gran Edmundo is full of flavour! It is a magnificent cigar somewhere between an Edmundo and a Sumblimé.

It has a perfect ring gauge and gives a full bodied smoke!

I love a Monté and this one will not let you down.

The Partigas Series D Especial

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

The Partagas Series D Especial for all my fellow D4 lovers is a little treat arrived from heaven today, or certainly a cigar smokers heaven, aka Cuba.

Edmando and his fellow rollers at Partagas factory have come up with a special cigar. It’s a D4 with more length and when we are smoking, there’s nothing better than a little more length as you always wish for a few more puffs!

In traditional D4 flavour, this cigar exudes all taste buds and refinement we would expect from one of the world’s best selling cigar. On the downside, they come in boxes of 10 and there are limited stocks so for connoisseurs and friends of the Series D society, stock up before you miss out!!

Its better then the Epicure Especial, being richer, deeper and giving a certain confidence you can only get with a ‘Red Band’.

Enjoy whilst you can.
