Yesterday I received the call to get over to Sautter of Mount Street to view the eagerly anticipated range of branded porcelain accessories we have had commissioned.
I arrived to the most beautiful window I have seen to date at the shop, stocked with an amazing selection of cigars and cigar related items (we will even be selling Montecristo coffee!), including authentic souvenirs picked up by Johnny and Laurence on their travels to Cuba.
Well, that started me off on the right foot and I was loosened up and ready to be tantalised further. I entered the shop to find it full of our regular customers together with, Laurence, Johnny, Richard, Jeff and Natasha (the ceramics artist) the air THICK with the rich aroma of the finest quality Havana cigars. What followed could easily be referred to as pure bliss, as Natasha unpacked our ashtrays and set of 4 anniversary mugs.

I spent Easter with the sole purpose of relaxing and tasting the new Behike collection by Cohiba. It was a truly memorable weekend!
Easter Saturday
In the evening I sat down in my country house in Lincolnshire and with a beautiful crisp glass of Mersault I embarked upon the Cohiba Behike Robustos 52. Strong and sweet with an amazing flavour. This is the new super cigar that was launched at the Cuban cigar festival in February, and which goes on sale in May.
It was not only memorable, but exciting as it uses the new and rare medio tiempo leaf and it was simply superb.
My taste buds were alive, I can highly recommend that you pre-order-johnny@sauttercigars.com as these are in very limited production; I'm personally laying down 25 boxes for my own collection. There are 15 in a box and they will be the most sought after cigars to come out of Cuba in the last 10 years.

In Cuba today Johnny and I are out in the tobacco fields where we met Hector Kidez, hector is a wonderful tobacco grower and we looked at the fillers and the wrappers being made for the 2010 harvest. Boy the harvest is late this year due to the rain and everything else but these tobacco leaves look something else. They really are going to mature into something very special. We have been through all of the tests learning all about the tobacco in the fields and we are in for a fantastic harvest for the 2011 cigars.
Anyway its really nice down in the cigar region of Pino del Rio.

This is an update from Cuba. LD and JB have been having the most unbelievable week. With guests of our wonderful hosts of Cubans, and not forgetting the absolute wonderment we feel to Hunters and Frankau who have showed us such an amazing time. They have taken us to the Tobacco fields, to the factories, to the local casers and even had people rolling for us the most wonderful cigars. But a special thank you from Sautters goes out to Jemma and Simon, and of course David Lewis, who as chairman of Hunters and Frankau has got to our on record on our blog as a superhero.
David Lewis, former corporate financer at Ambrose recalled a story late on night where he and his corporate finance partner did a box of Monety’s whilst completing a transaction. It was an all-nighter, and when I asked what was the memorable moment, he said lighting up the last cigar and completing the transaction.

Tuesday evening 23rd February from Havana. My name is Laurence and I’m here with Johnny having a smoke here in Havana. This little baby comes in 3 sizes, the Behiki, 52 girth, 54 inch girth and for the brave and seriously coinsured of all our customers, the behiki 56. this is no ordinary smoke. This is champion in its strength and power. Johnny was very naughty, he couldn’t help himself but managed to talk to one of the most beautiful looking girls in the factory and she organised that he and I should try one of these 56 inch, and believe me, 2 hours later we were still swooning by the taste and aroma of what must be tone of the most powerful cigars in the history, certainly of http://www.sauttercigars.com/brands/cohiba.html. Its going to be launched on Friday night at the Gala dinner. It is on 8pm on Friday and they are going to give us this dinner as a dedication to the new behiki label. I’m telling you this is the hottest picket in town. Its more difficult tot get to the behiki launch than it will be to get to the Oscars, and it will b so much better then the Oscar. This will be a masking success.
I will update you soon.
Goodbye from Laurence and Johnny

This is the Laurence Davis of http://www.sauttercigars.com reporting from Cuba on the launch of the Julieta, yes http://www.sauttercigars.com/brands/romeo-y-julieta.html having finally come out of the scantily clad red aluminum tin which are 5 absolutely lovely lady cigars.
In the pom ceremony at the Great museum of Bella in down town Havana, Romeo and Julieta launched its first cigar aimed at the ladies market. This is a beautiful little smoke, very elegant, very sweet in taste. Quite good for a man if he wants to have a little afternoon smoke and not really be caught up in whether he can.

Welcome to the new Sautter of Mount Street website.
Saturday, 15 August 2009
Welcome to the new Sautter of Mount Street website.
We decided to create a new Sautter site for a few reasons, and whilst in many ways I am personally sad to see the original one go, it's for the best I assure you.
Towards the end of last year when we were approached to create the Sautter site, Laurence and I had a creative orgy, the newbie and the veteran throwing ideas around like hot potatoes. We wanted a city guide, a beginners section, a forum, social networking, a membership section, a club... that's the edited list, basically this site had more features than Windows Vista and was just as muddled! Well, we did a good job at cutting down functionality, but to be honest there was a bigger problem at hand... Sautter is a Cuban cigar and cigar accessories retailer and has been for over 50 years - We sell cigars, and the old site was just not focused enough on that.
V2 Sautter is based on a very secure and powerful framework, all of our fun features like, commenting and giving feedback on the items are still there. We have cut back on a few unnecessary functions and made the e-commerce much more focused and helpful.
It is our plan to launch "Sautter Lifestyle" by October, this site will pick up all the important cigar lifestyle elements that we have lost and wished to have on V1, as well as showcasing some very interesting new developments with our beloved brand.
Please sign up for our newsletter in the top right handside of the page.
Feedback is welcome :)

Last Thursday evening I was fortunate to be involved in one of those truly magical events that can only happen in the heart of London in elegant Mayfair. Like the Berkeley Square Ball, the Mount St Festival attracts the glitterati, the glamorous and some serious “movers and shakers”.

Thoughts from Cuba - Johnny Berman Blog

Sun ,sea, cigars and lots of chicken!
this was my first trip to Cuba and when we land I see dismantled aircraft at the side of the runway. It reminds me a little of spain in the 1970`s.
We are met by Jorge our Cuban guide for the week. He speaks perfect english which he learnt in Moscow! He is a huge baseball fan which we talk about because I lived in the USA for some time, and he is annoyed at Castro for not allowing baseball to be shown on Cuban TV from the USA.
