In it’s 50th year Sautter of Mount Street has discovered something truly amazing. An almost complete cabinet of H Upmann cigars believed to date from the late 1800’s.

On Thursday 30th of June Sautter released the first video with the initial findings of initial research on these extraordinary cigars by cigar consultant Simon Chase.

The video reviews what we know about this historic discovery so far based on the provenance of the cabinet which was locked up on the death of the original owner, around 1900 and was only reopened in the last two years.

To put the age of these cigars in context, Charles Dickens died in 1870, in 1893 Henry Ford built his first car and in 1895 Winston Churchill made his first trip to Cuba as a young journalist and fell in love with the country and it’s cigars.
