This is the Laurence Davis of Sautter reporting from Cuba on the launch of the Julieta, yes Romeo and Julieta having finally come out of the scantily clad red aluminum tin which are 5 absolutely lovely lady cigars.
In the pom ceremony at the Great museum of Bella in down town Havana, Romeo and Julieta launched its first cigar aimed at the ladies market. This is a beautiful little smoke, very elegant, very sweet in taste. Quite good for a man if he wants to have a little afternoon smoke and not really be caught up in whether he can. Anyway, Cuba has been a very eye-opening trip.
Jonathan Berman and myself are here from Sautter’s looking at what’s going on and to report back. Last night we experienced a very wonderful special edition 2010 Edmundo larger than normal, but the same or similar size to the 706, as we are here live form the capital of Cuba smoking the 2010 edition, it's everything the Edmundo is, with a little more power through the cigar. It’s great, it’s moist. Lives up to it's reputation and shows that Montecristo have done it again for the fantastic limited edition.
The other cigars of the evening smoked between the first course and main course was of course the our old favourite The Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure no.2 double banded http://www.sauttercigars.com/cigars.html. Absolutely sweet as can be and a complete and utter hunger maker. You got the first course, you have the cigar and then you are ready for something big and powerful for a main course and the Cuban's didn’t let us down, certainly was the most wonderful beef wellington.
Anyway enough from Cuba, will let you know what happens Friday night at the special Gala dinner.
