The early smoke is filled by intense cedar and black pepper characters; the amounts of smoke seem to vary considerably in the first third, but the draw is always excellent all the way down. In the second third, a very rich aromatic presence, with scents of wood, pepper, mushrooms and autumn leaves. The smoke gets a little dry at the end of the second third. The last third is fulfilling and satisfying, with the same flavors dominating.
