Quick Overview

Partagas Serie D no. 4
– A classic and widely loved everyday smoke. This was my main smoke for a long time.

Partagas Serie D Especial 2010
– A step further towards perfection than the serie D no.4, a more involved smoke.

Bolivar Royal Coronas
– This was my Dubai 2009 smoke. Fresh and easy.

Cohiba Behike - 54
– I was lucky enough to go the Behike launch earlier this year. All these cigars, I was worried that this new super cigar from Cohiba was an example of "The emperors new clothes." HOWEVER... This is the one cigar, that I can truly say, has something very different about it. Everything about this stick and smoke is classy and interesting.

Montecristo Edmundo
– One of LD's favourites and a cigar that has been enjoyed to and from Spurs matches and rugby at Twickenham. Enough cigar to fill the journey there and back and special enough to lift the atmosphere even higher.

Hoyo de Monterrey - Epicure no. 1 (2000)
– This cigar was given to me as a "pepsi challenge". It was presented in its true form with no banding and I had to smoke it all and pass on my opinion. I found it a solid, juicy, well built stick and thoroughly enjoyed it. Turns out, its a favourite at Sautter - so much so, we have double banded it for our 50th anniversary. Phew.

Por Larranaga - Regalias de Londres
– This cigar has only just arrived in the store and whilst at LDs house for Spurs glorious win over WB last week, I had a rummage through the humidor - I had to try it. It was smooth, easy and tasty... a good 90mins of smoking.

H Upmann - No. 2
– I was first offered this cigar whilst in a meeting at Hunters & Frankau, the UK distributor of Habanos in the UK. This meeting will go down in history as the longest meeting I have ever been a part of. I had a friend waiting at home for me and told them a couple of hours. Well 6 hours later and I returned. In that time, I enjoyed 2 of these, from a pack that was given to me by Hunters. This cigar was chewy and full bodied and well worth a mention.

Trinidad Robusto T
– Only ever smoked one Trinidad, well, one kind, this one - I have smoked a few of these :) The pig tail is a gimmick to be enjoyed and the smoke was a well balanced and steady experience.

Cuaba Piramides Ltd
– I have had one of these. I found the construction really unique and enjoyed the draw that the shape gives the smoke. It's an expensive stogie, but like the Behike you can taste the quality.

Product Description

What seems like a lifetime ago (2 years in real life) I sat behind a desk with Laurence Davis for the first time. That day I came away with at least 100 features for sauttercigars.com V1. We launched with at least 50 of them and now at V3, I think we have about 10.

I have learned to love and understand the creative brain storms that Laurence and I have and also the importance of prioritising.

Laurence is now a close friend and confidant and I have developed a love of cigars. Im no aficionado by any stretch, in fact, Im quite the heathen still.

What I can offer is the honesty of someone new to cigars, that has been lucky enough to have his pick of the humidor at Sautter. Im a big man (6ft4/16 stone) and so I need a weighty stick (I just wouldn't feel right with a small gauge).

I have put together a selection of my favourites.

I present to you,

David Fine - The Finos Selection...
