The cigar is the Partagas Lusitanias Gran Reserva Cosecha 2007. As a cigar the Lusitanias is revered by all cigar lovers and adding the Gran Reserva status makes this a very special cigar. It has great aging potential and is likely to be snapped up by collectors and cigar aficionados and is destined to become a classic.
Founded in 1845, the emblematic Lusitanias vitola was handpicked to be the first Partagas Grand Reserve in over 160 years of history.
Only 5,000 individually numbered lacquered cases have been made. Each one containing 15 cigars. The Lusitanias were hand-rolled with long filler by the best roller in the Partagas factory. The blend was devised by Arnaldo Bichot, the larger-than-life master blender at the Partagas Cigar Factory, under the supervision of the Tobacco Institute.
All of the leaves used in this beautiful cigar; the wrapper, binder and filler, were harvested back in 2007 and have been through a long and thorough aging process. They were then meticulously sorted to selected the leaves for this special cigar.
Hailing from the tobacco-growing lands of San Juan y Martinez, the Ligero leaves used in this blend clinch the brand’s characteristic strength, owed to the region’s rich soils. For its part, Seco’s leaves stem from San Luis, famous both in Cuba and around the globe for the peerless scent of its cigars.
The character of Partagas’ blend, made up of cigars rolled with selected filler and binder leaves out of Vuelta Abajo, gives this brand away due to their rich and intense taste.
