The José Piedra Cazadores is one of those little secrets, you can’t help but share. Like an unrefined gorilla at a tea-party at first, they begin to show great finesse when aged in a good Spanish cedar humidor. I find that they need to be left for a couple of years and trust me, you will be pleasantly surprised. These sticks are earthy and medium bodied with loads of spice that comes on a bit much towards the very end. I’ve smoked most Cuban brands, finding a few that were absolute essentials in my humi, but these remain a surprise on a budget. If you don’t have the storage space, simply put these in an old, top of the line cigar box, with lots of cedar sheets and forget about them for 3 yrs. Well worth the wait.
