SO here we are; up and running once again, thank the Gods.

Society, in general, is getting back into gear and Sautter is no different.

The Mount Street store opened its doors last week and among the first through them was the British Heavyweight boxer Derek ‘Del Boy’ Chisora, who pulled up a chair in the Sautter socially distanced outside seating area and enjoyed a smoke with his pals.

The shop has seen brisk business in the recent sunshine, guests either enjoying a smoke outside, around the corner in the Mount Street Gardens or taking their little beauties home with them to enjoy. Sautter hopes to be able to allow limited indoor seating – still socially distanced – once things have calmed down even further.

And the YouTube videos are back up and running. LD performed solo for some recordings, including the recently-released video tasting of the Regional Edition, the La Gloria Cubana Británicas Extra. Only 6,000 boxes of 10 have been made of this little cracker, especially for the UK market. The Figurado shape was first seen on these shores for the 2011 release of the Bolivar Británicas. They’ve been selling like the proverbial hot cakes.

And Sautter has big plans for its sister ship across London at the outrageously lovely Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds. Here, among 139 leafy acres on the border of Middlesex and Hertfordshire, lies a smorgasbord of earthly delights – including, of course, the Sautter Cigar Lounge.

You can have your shotgun fitted here, go for a lesson with expert instructors, buy luxury goods, eat exquisite food, drink great wine and make the most of the outstanding facilities. And it was here, on another blisteringly hot afternoon, that LD and his old sparring partner Nick Hammond resurrected their long-awaited YouTube partnership to record some brand new shows. They will be released in short order.

Sautter has a number of events planned at, and alongside, Holland & Holland, you can rest assured on that front. But apart from that, the venue is now safely open, operating sensible social distancing and you can pop in for a look around and a smoke at a time to please you. It really is worth a visit.

The popular Instagram Live evening catch-ups also continue by popular support; a chance for friends old and new to drop by, grab a drink and a smoke and see in the end (or the beginning, wherever they may be) of their day. The sense of camaraderie and ‘Blitz Spirit’ has increased, week on week, as lockdown has gone by. Do drop by and say hello and LD may even invite you to join him live for a quick chat.
